Abridged Commentary Part 0-48

Unsurprisingly, a very red issue, atmosphere wise. This is an issue where design and words and images come together with particular oomph, we think. ‘Mercury Red’ is one of our strangest and favourite titles, drawing the idea of that explosive that may or may not exist from the echo chamber of nuclear threat, while we wade once again into the emotional turbulence and uncertainty of our digitally conditioned lives. As ever, its relevance is something of a revenant. A classic A4 landscape issue from 2016, featuring some of our most regular contributors, with a classic Abridged question at heart: is fear more substantial than what’s feared?
